  • HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK YOUR SERVICES?

    I typically book at least 1-2 months in advance, depending on the season. I receive multiple

    requests, so I can’t guarantee a date until it is booked with a deposit. Once an estimate is sent

    out I will let you know if another client becomes interested in that date. At that point I will extend

    to you a 48 hour grace period to confirm your booking.

  • HOW CAN I BOOK MY SPECIAL EVENT DATE?

    I require a 25% booking deposit for functions, then the next 50% two weeks before the event

    and the balance is paid the day after the event, for any final staffing or incidental costs.

  • DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM CHARGE?

    There is a minimum of at least $750 per caterring event. For the Bistro Tour, the price is fixed for a group of 6, with per person extra charges for up to 8 people.

  • THERE IS NO KITCHEN ON SITE, WHAT CAN YOU DO?

    I can still cater your event! I have a Public Health inspected and approved Food Truck that can

    come on site. It is fully equipped and is powered with a quiet generator.

  • DO YOU OFFER TASTINGS?

    This is discretionary depending on the event.

  • WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

    I accept cash, cheque, credit card and interac e-transfer to chef@chefscottyates.com.

  • WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

    I offer Full Service Catering (Plated Dinners/Buffets/Food Truck Functions) with staffing, if required. I can also arrange for any rentals.

    Excursions on the Bistro Tour Food Truck

  • IS GRATUITY INCLUDED IN MY ESTIMATE?

    “Gratuity is something that's earned, not expected and not automatically charged”


    Therefore, this is totally up to the client.

  • WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE LEFTOVERS?

    Any leftovers will be packaged up and left with you. I can use your own containers or use my

    eco-friendly ones for a minimal charge.

  • WHEN DO YOU NEED TO SET FINAL NUMBERS FOR MY EVENT?

    Final numbers are due 2 weeks before your special event so that the proper amount of local

    product can be ordered.

  • WHAT IF I AM ON A CULINARY TOUR AND IT IS RAINING

    We don't offer any rain for our events. However, if by chance there is, umbrellas are available to

    go into and from your chosen destinations. Food/pairings will be served on the Bistro Tour bus to make things safe, dry and comfortable.

  • WHEN PLACING A TAKE HOME ORDER, HOW DO I KNOW CUTOFF TIMES, WHEN AND HOW MY MEALS ARE AVAILABLE?

    There is a set cutoff order date on the website. If you are past that date, please email me at

    chef@chefscottyates.com to see if there is still any availability. An email will go out to you

    regarding pickup/delivery details two days before along with any reheating or assembly

    instructions.

  • CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE FOOD ALLERGIES?

    Absolutely. Please let me know in advance of any dietary requirements to make everyone enjoy

  • WHAT DOES LOVE TASTE LIKE?

    LOVE is the main ingredient that I cook with. It's what goes into everything I do; local producers,

    farmers and collaborators. It's what makes what I do so special to myself and to everyone else.
